The Alternative Inspection System
Discover an innovative approach to educational inspections with Inspect4good.co.uk. Our alternative inspection system aims to revolutionize the way schools are assessed, focusing on collaboration and peer-to-peer learning.

Peer-to-Peer Inspections
Our alternative inspection system involves a Peer-to-Peer approach where a Head, along with a small team, act as inspectors for another school. Then, in turn, that school inspects another school. This method promotes a culture of sharing best practices and constructive feedback between educational institutions. Similar approaches have been tried in the past and found to be very effective (Matthews and Headon (2015).

Where there are issues
Inspectors would act as critical friends with the ability to celebrate the strengths of institutions as well as to identify any serious problems, where they exist. The latter would trigger a second visit from a quite different Head, plus a small group, with action taken if the “blind” second set of inspectors identified the same serious problem(s).

Dialogue
Through dialogue we would expect both Heads and their teams to benefit from the inspection which should be aimed at a two-way learning opportunity with an edge to it. So dialogue must go beyond comfortable conversations to allow for challenge, support and disagreements as well as consensus.
